July 10 2022 Sripuram2022-07-10A photograph of a flower-decorated wooden processional shrine on a red wheeled cart. Inside the shrine, a golden deity murti with multiple arms and a large crown sits on a yellow cushion, flanked by a framed printed portrait draped in garlands. A man seated in front, bare-chested with white ash markings on his forehead and arms, wears a saffron-orange dhoti and a long rudraksha mala. He sits with hands joined near banana bunches, a brass bowl of pink flowers, brass lamps and coconuts. Garlands of white and yellow flowers and green leaves frame the shrine. The man is one visible person; the printed portrait and murti are not counted. The scene reflects a Bonalu procession with a thottelu tower and offerings to Yellamma Devi.2022-07-10A decorated red wooden cart procession at a Bonalu festival. Beneath a canopy of pink, orange and white flowers and green leaves, a golden deity murti with trident and raised arms is set up. A bare-chested man with long braided hair and a white tilak sits cross-legged on the cart in orange cloth, holding a ritual tray with brass vessels and a lamp. Two men stand behind in white shirts and jeans, one raising a pink-decorated item. Red and gold decorative cloths hang at the sides, and a carved golden bird crest sits above the canopy.2022-07-10A photo of a decorated shrine at an outdoor temple setting during a Bonalu-style celebration. A golden deity murti under an arch is heavily garlanded with orange marigolds, white flowers, pink and red gerbera daisies and green leaves. Before the shrine, a bare-chested priest in orange cloth with rudraksha mala and white markings on his body sits in worship, with offerings of fruit and flowers placed in front. Two red and yellow decorated structures flank the shrine, and a man in white shirt and jeans stands at left. Green trees and a golden temple roof appear behind.2022-07-10A photograph of a decorated red wooden cart procession at an outdoor temple setting, with green leaves and shade trees overhead. The cart's canopy is wrapped in garlands of red, pink, orange and white flowers and topped with a carved bird-and-serpent ornament. Inside the cart, a bare-chested man in an orange dhoti sits with white markings on his forehead and body and a beaded mala, seated before a golden-faced deity murti of a goddess with a crown and garlands, with bananas, coconuts and offering plates arranged in front. A large lit-up deity face and ornaments decorate the shrine. A seated devotee in a pink sari stands at the right edge, and a child in yellow is at the lower left, partially visible.2022-07-10A seated figure rides on a gold-and-red palanquin during a festival procession. He wears an ornate gold crown with red stone accents, multiple white jasmine garlands over a red-and-white bead necklace, and a rudraksha mala. He is bare-chested with an orange-saffron cloth draped over his lap. Around him are bright yellow and pink flower garlands, and a gold-topped staff with fringed tassels in red, pink, green and yellow overhead. A second person in orange clothes, seen from behind, reaches toward the flowers at right. A blue and gold embroidered cushion sits at the left edge. The setting is an urban street with a red brick building behind. The seated figure matches a person by his crown, garlands and rudraksha mala, though his face is not clearly identifiable.2012-04-27July 10 2022 Sripuram2022-07-10A seated man with long dark hair, eyes closed and a red tilak on his forehead, sits on an ornate gold throne in front of a gilded shrine. He wears an orange saffron robe, a white flower garland, and a long rudraksha mala hanging to his waist. Behind him stand two golden deity murti, one with a trident and red-green turban, garlanded with yellow, purple and red flower strands in front of a red drape and an arched gold frame. The setting suggests a temple darshan or satsang. The seated man's appearance is consistent with the Swamiji (probable) cues of long hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha malas, so he is described as a probable Swamiji seated in person.2010-09-14July 10 2022 Sripuram2022-07-10 +1 copiesJuly 21 20102010-07-21A photograph of a priest seated cross-legged on the floor in a temple shrine, bare-chested, wearing an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with a rudraksha mala around his neck and white tilak marks on his chest and forehead. He faces a low brass-edged puja table holding a golden pyramid-shaped object, small metal figurines decorated with pink flowers, a copper vessel and a bowl of flower petals. Behind him, a gilded ornate seat holds silver-clad deity murti of a four-armed figure and a consort in red and gold, flanked by a golden lion and a figure in red and green. Brass oil lamps hang overhead, and brass pots, a bell, a plate of kumkum and vibhuti, and incense sticks lie on the floor.
