A seated man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala and forearm bands sits at the right beside a raised, gold-ornate seat decorated with white and red garlands. Behind him, several men in saffron and orange robes stand or sit, one holding a silver vessel, while a woman in a red blouse and orange-red wrap raises a hand toward the seat. Nearby, a young woman in an orange sari sits in front of a microphone, and a row of boys in orange and saffron robes, some with white tilak marks and rudraksha malas, sit with palms joined. Ceremonial umbrellas with teal and gold trim, decorated staffs, and a trident are visible. Palm trees and red-roofed buildings surround the scene. This appears to be a homa or yagna ritual with devotees and attendants in attendance.2014-09-26August 20 20142014-08-20 +1 copiesSeptember 26 20162016-09-26Outdoor photo beneath a large ancient banyan tree with dense aerial roots hanging from its branches. Two people in saffron-orange robes stand on bare sandy ground; the one on the left stands with hands at sides, while the one at centre in the middle presses palms together in prayer. To the right, a black stone shrine or deity murti sits on a raised base of red-painted stone, draped with yellow and white flower garlands, with a small white figure and a green cloth beside it. A brass lamp and white cord or garland lie on the ground near the base. A dark tiled area is visible at left.2006-10-25Outdoor ritual under a corrugated metal canopy in front of a decorated deity murti shrine with garlands and a tall ornate backdrop. A seated figure in a saffron-orange robe sits on a raised platform before a gold-colored stand holding offerings and a brass vessel, while another person in white stands nearby with hands folded. A framed portrait sits on an orange armchair beside the platform. Seated rows of women and girls in orange saris with red borders face the platform, and a bare-headed sannyasi in orange sits at left. Plants, a red wall and a loudspeaker are visible in the background. Whether the saffron-robed central figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance, so the role is given as a seated sannyasi.2014-10-02A temple shrine scene under a thatched canopy with palm trees behind. A bare-chested priest in red-maroon dhoti bows low before a dark stone shrine draped with multicoloured flower garlands in purple, white, yellow and red. Beside him stand three men in saffron-orange and red robes with orange turbans and rudraksha malas; one holds a gold-trimmed cloth. A man in white shirt and a young girl in a pink top and grey leggings watch. On the right, a seated man in orange robes with long swept-back hair and a white forehead mark holds a silver tray of yellow and orange flowers, with a rudraksha mala and bead necklace; a shaved-head man in orange stands behind him. A brass lamp stand and red cloth rest on the shrine.2015-01-13Outdoor satsang under a large banyan tree at Adhi Kailasa, with a seated teacher in an orange-red cloth on a red velvet throne with gold trim. Behind him stands a deity murti decorated with red and orange garlands beneath a white carved arch. Dozens of devotees sit on mats in white and red-orange clothing, some in saffron shawls, a woman in a green sari at lower right, and a microphone stand to the right. Some older participants sit on chairs at the edges.2013-09-13Outdoor ritual under a corrugated metal canopy with palm trees behind. A tall copper kalasha-like pillar is wrapped with green leaves and garlands. Two bare-chested priests in orange-red dhotis with gold borders stand on a red-painted platform, one hoisting a rope or cloth at the top of the pillar and another reaching up with garlands. In the foreground, two shaved-headed men in orange-gold cloth with rudraksha malas hold up a yellow rope. Several other priests in orange robes stand at left and devotees wait near a shrine at right with a deity image. Scattered yellow petals cover the platform. Visible people are roughly ten, all in ritual dress, with no clearly identifiable candidate for the teacher.2014-08-20 +1 copies
