Inside a shrine doorway, a framed portrait of a smiling man in an orange turban and saffron wrap sits above a gold throne draped with a tiger-skin cloth, with lit oil lamps before it. Several saffron-robed attendants kneel near the throne, one holding a lamp. Flanking the doorway are two painted deity statues with gold crowns, gold necklaces, and orange and green garments, holding ritual objects. Brass oil lamps stand on a red carpet, and the walls are painted in blue, pink and yellow. His hands are held together at his waist. Behind him sit three golden statues: two seated monk figures in orange shawls with gilded faces and chests, each with a green leaf offering before them, and a golden seated Buddha in orange robes with a raised right hand in abhaya mudra. Small brass oil lamps and dishes sit on the dark stone platform, which has blue and red striped borders with gold trim. The man is the only physical person present, and his appearance shows several cues matching the a person candidate: long swept hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads, so he is identified as a probable appearance-based candidate.2005-07-13A photograph inside a richly decorated temple hall with a patterned purple and gold wall and tiled floor.
