2005 - View-of-Ananda-Sabha-Construction

A photograph of workers on a cleared, excavated site of raw reddish-brown earth with mounds and shallow pits, surrounded by green grass and leafy trees under a cloudy sky with a palm tree visible behind. Four men are working: one in a white shirt and white dhoti digs with a long-handled tool at left, another crouches in a dug pit near an orange bucket, a third in a purple checked shirt and green lungi carries a silver metal pot across the foreground, and a fourth in a white shirt and green lungi stands at right beside a green water pump with hoses. No a person is visible.

A photo of three workmen at a circular excavation pit on dry, bare ground beside a red-brick building. The man on the left in a red striped shirt and checked lungi kneels and handles a rope, the man in the centre in an orange vest and lungi stands behind him, and a man in a white shirt and checked lungi crouches at the right edge of the pit. Heaps of dark soil and rough grey stones lie around the hole, with a white single-storey structure and trees in the background.

A construction site on open grassland under a heavy overcast sky. Several large mounds of reddish-brown earth rise across the ground, with trenches and dug pits, scattered rubble and stones, and standing puddles in the foreground. A small group of people in white clothing stands near the centre among the mounds, and a few more figures in white walk on the left. Trees and a low red-roofed building with laundry hanging outside line the background.

A construction site at a rural ashram setting with bare red-brown earth. A worker in a white shirt and grey trousers, leaning forward with a shovel, scoops soil from a trench. A second man in a blue plaid shirt, grey trousers and a white head cloth stands watching beside him. Rusted rebar rods rise from the foundation, trees and a yellow excavator sit in the background, and a hose lies across the ground. Neither man is clearly identifiable as a person.

Workers dig a large rectangular excavation in reddish-brown soil at a construction site, cut into two tiers with steps. Several men in white shirts, checked shirts, lungi-style wraps and head cloths use spades, crowbars and hand tools; one man stands on the upper edge and another at the bottom level. Trees and shrubs stand behind the pit, and a framed portrait sits at the upper right near a red and white striped barrier. Sandals lie on the left ledge. No one is identified as a person in the scene.

Outdoor photograph of a dug foundation pit on a dry, reddish-brown earth site beside palm trees. Several men stand around the excavation; one figure in a pale shirt and dark lungi stands at the edge, while a man in a striped lungi stands nearby. On the right, a figure with long dark hair wears a saffron-orange robe and holds a tool, and two other figures in orange and white robes stand beside them. A workman sits inside the pit, and a low white wall with red trim and steps is at left. Overcast sky and power lines are visible in the background.

A photograph of a group of men digging a large earthen pit outdoors beside a white-washed building with ventilation screens and a leafy tree. Several workers stand around the excavation: one in a white shirt and checked lungi holds a shovel, another in a white vest and grey shorts works in the pit, and a man in a white turban and checked lungi holds a long pole. Others wear checked headcloths and loose shirts, and some are shirtless. Piles of reddish soil surround the hole, and a wooden pole lies across the scene.

A photograph of four men in white clothes working on bare, sandy ground beside a large old tree with a thick trunk and spreading canopy. Two men crouch near the center, one holding a small plate with green leaves, while others bend over at the left and right edges. A low stone wall and young saplings stand behind them, with scrubby vegetation and palm trees in the background. Some men appear barefoot and dressed in white shirts and dhotis.

Outdoor construction site for a temple foundation, with a deep rectangular excavation in reddish-brown earth. Several workers, some in head cloths and checked lungis, dig and stand inside the pit, while others work at its rim. Two women in orange saffron robes stand at the right edge holding digging tools, and a figure in orange robes stands beside them. A metal pan lies on the ground in front of the pit, with sandals and a folded blue checked cloth nearby. Palm trees and a grey overcast sky fill the background, and a white wall with red trim and a small framed portrait appear at the upper left.
