Outdoor photograph of a temple courtyard with a whitewashed wall striped in red and white. A standing figure in a sleeveless orange robe and orange shawl, with long dark hair, raises an open palm toward the head of a kneeling devotee in white. Other people in white kurtas and white dhotis stand nearby, some with hands folded in namaskar. Behind them a dark stone deity murti draped in an orange cloth sits on a raised platform. A small fire pit with smoke rises in the foreground, and a blue barrel and potted plants stand at the side. The orange-robed figure has distinctive long hair and orange clothing, so the appearance-based label Swamiji (probable) applies to this in-person candidate.2010-06-13June 13 20102010-06-13June 13 20102010-06-13Outdoor photo at a white temple building with a sign reading Sri Anandeshvari Mandir above a doorway strung with marigold garlands. A man in saffron robes with a red-orange head covering and a long orange shawl climbs white steps carrying a brass tray and a garland, followed by a woman in a red-orange sari and sandals. Devotees in white kurtas and white dhotis stand on the steps and at the entrance, some with hands in anjali, one holding a pink cloth. Two women in white stand at left near a small shrine with stone deity murtis. Overcast sky and green trees behind.2009-07-08Outdoor ritual at a white-walled temple beside a sign reading Sri Anandeshwar Mandir. A man in white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl bends over a white stone fire pit, tending a metal tray of flames with a long tool. Behind him, several men in saffron-orange robes stand on the concrete courtyard; one has white forehead markings, a rudraksha-style mala and gold-toned necklace, another has long dark hair. A man in white with an orange shawl stands at the side holding the fire tray handle, and a woman in white and a man in white stand nearby. Red-and-white painted border stones frame the pit, with potted plants at the edge.2009-06-15Outdoor photo at a temple entrance with whitewashed walls and maroon-striped steps. A long-haired man in a sleeveless saffron-orange garment and orange dhoti stands with his right hand extended, touching the head of a man in a white shirt and white dhoti who bends forward with hands clasped. Beside them stands another man in saffron-orange clothing, and to the right a man in a white shirt and grey trousers watches. On the left a bald man in white dhoti with a red shawl stands barefoot. Behind, a man in white with a yellow shawl stands at the shrine doorway, where a deity murti is visible inside. Two dark stone dvarapala-like statues wear orange shawls, and a printed banner hangs on the right wall. The scene suggests a blessing being given at the temple.2010-06-13Outdoor fire ritual at a whitewashed temple labelled Sri Anandeshwar Mandir. A figure in saffron-orange robes with long hair sits cross-legged beside a smoking fire pit, with a small brass vessel near the flames. Around a raised platform, about a dozen men in white dhotis and white shirts sit on the ground, several wearing white and yellow sashes or lanyards, and a man in a grey jacket stands filming or photographing. A white-clad figure stands near the temple entrance and an older man in white sits in a chair at the right. Left foreground shows a person in white with a yellow scarf and a partially visible woman in orange. Other white-clad figures sit beneath a tree-lined background.2010-06-18July 08 20092009-07-08A photograph of an outdoor ritual at an orange-painted temple wall bearing a sign reading Sri Ananda temple. A central figure in a saffron-orange robe with a dark rudraksha mala stands at a raised platform, head bowed, beside a fire pit sending up smoke and a deity murti with a multi-hooded canopy. Four men stand behind him with hands folded in namaskar: one in white shirt and white trousers at left, one in a long white kurta at second left, one in a white shirt at centre, and one in white with a cord at right. Green leaves are strung along the wall, and trees stand at the left.2010-10-11October 27 20082008-10-27Outdoor photo at a temple courtyard with a white building behind them bearing red Tamil lettering reading ஆனந்தேஸ்வர் மந்திர் and a sign reading Sri Anandeshwara Temple. A man in the centre wears a white dhoti and kurta with a bright orange shawl over his shoulder, a rudraksha mala, and his long hair pulled back; he raises one hand, index finger extended, while speaking. Around him stand several men in white dhotis and shirts, one in a pale yellow shirt seen from behind, one with a grey beard, and a young man in a white shirt on the right holding a white bag. Bare feet on the sandy ground, a covered walkway at left and garlands on a pillar at right. The centre man is a person by appearance cues: long swept hair, orange shawl and rudraksha mala, though the image is not clear enough to be certain.2009-12-16A group of men in white ritual clothes descends the striped white-and-red steps of a whitewashed building entrance marked by a sign reading "SRI ANANDESHWARA". A tall figure with long dark hair in an orange-saffron robe stands at left beside a dark stone deity murti, and an attendant in white with a yellow shawl holds a garland and sandals. Several men in white kurtas, some with yellow or orange shawls and rudraksha-style neck cords, follow down the steps; sandals rest at the bottom. Potted plants and a bright blue sky frame the scene.2009-10-15
