A photograph of a group of villagers and children gathered outside a white building with a dark doorway, beside tall palm trees and green shrubs. A young man in a white shirt and checked lungi stands at left, while a bare-chested man in a tan shirt and lungi stands with folded arms near the doorway. A woman in a striped top and blue jeans holds a small child at the entrance, and a young girl in a purple skirt stands beside her. To the right, a line of boys stands on white steps under a covered veranda, some in orange and striped shirts, some in white and grey, hands folded or hanging, with a hanging fern plant and potted plants along the wall. A small planted border with a low hedge sits in the foreground. The scene appears to be a visit to a gurukul-style school, and one saffron-robed figure may be the swami, with an appearance-based label that is uncertain.2008-01-25Photograph of a group of children sitting on the red-and-white striped step of a gold-painted temple structure outdoors under a blue sky. A shaved-headed person in orange robes sits at the centre, hands folded in namaste, flanked by a man in a blue shirt and women in saffron and red saris with hands joined in prayer. Several women in blue, red and pink saris stand or sit nearby, and a small boy in a striped shirt sits beside the central figure. Strings of small lights and a red-and-green hanging cloth decorate the gold pillars, with green trees behind.
