The central and left vehicles carry metal-framed shrine canopies with deity murtis draped in garlands, one with a yellow cloth backdrop and one with a blue backdrop, and small colourful streamers hang above. Strings of multicoloured lights line the foreground. At the centre, an ornately decorated float with a large arched backdrop of concentric rings in green, purple, red and white stands on a flower-garlanded platform, with a seated figure in orange and gold clothing and a garland at the centre. Attendants in white and red stand near the platform, and an oil lamp or puja tray is set in front. A smaller decorated palanquin or float with a red canopy appears at left, and a lit building with blue and green lights stands behind. A crowd of devotees in colourful saris and white clothes surrounds the procession, with some people carrying items and others raising hands.2016-12-09November 11 20152015-11-11Night procession photograph of a large ratha/chariot decorated with dense garlands of white, yellow and red flowers and green leaves. Seated on a golden throne under the canopy is a man in an orange-brown robe with a yellow turban and a flower garland, flanked by figures in white. Two standing men in white dhotis with shawls hold ceremonial staffs and a fan-like object beside the throne. A dense crowd in silhouette fills the foreground under dark sky, with a lit illuminated temple tower in the background. a person appearance is a probable candidate: a seated figure with a yellow turban, orange-brown robe and flower garlands on the chariot throne.2016-12-23Night procession of a flower-decorated ratha, a wheeled festival chariot, moving through a crowd. The canopy is draped with white, red and yellow garlands and green leaves, and a golden seat holds a figure in saffron-toned clothing with a rudraksha mala, flanked by attendants in white dhotis; the figure's appearance is too indistinct to attribute identity from looks, so the central figure is described by role only. Several people in white and saffron stand on the chariot and beside it, holding a long ceremonial fan or staff. Behind the chariot a large crowd of devotees in white, saffron, purple and orange clothing presses forward, with a lit temple gopuram and a smaller illuminated shrine at the left under dark night sky.2016-12-23December 23 20062006-12-23
