Outdoor procession on a dirt road with a wooded hill behind. A central figure with long dark hair, a white and red floral garland, orange ceremonial clothing and gold-toned necklaces walks barefoot between attendants in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls, several wearing mala necklaces. Two attendants hold large yellow umbrellas with red and blue floral embroidery, and a red umbrella with tassels overhead. Men in white dhotis and women in orange saris walk in the background.2013-01-06March 10 20132013-03-10Outdoor procession beneath a large banyan tree with dangling aerial roots. At centre, a man in a rust-orange turban and rust-orange dhoti walks barefoot, wearing a heavy gold necklace, a white-and-pink flower garland and a rudraksha mala, with a bare upper body. Above him an ornate yellow parasol with multicoloured fringe and tassels is carried on a pole. A woman in a maroon sari with a garland walks beside him at left. Behind them, saffron-clad and white-clad men and women follow along a sandy path with rocks and a low wall. Several people in the background wear white dhotis, saffron cloth and rudraksha malas. The scene reads as a ceremonial walk with a parasol bearer and attendants.2016-10-08October 11 20162016-10-11November 21 20062006-11-21February 05 20152015-02-05A night-time procession under a large banyan tree. A central bearded man with a shaved-looking head and vibhuti mark wears a maroon-brown robe, a long orange-bead mala and a white-and-orange flower garland, walking barefoot. Above him a large colourful ceremonial parasol with red, yellow, blue and green fringe is held aloft by an attendant. Around him, saffron-robed men carry a silver tray and wear rudraksha malas; a white-clad man in a gold-bordered dhoti holds a small vessel on the left, and a man in yellow shirt holds a green umbrella at the far left. Trees and red-pillared structures frame the background.2017-01-01Outdoor photo on a dirt path beside a corrugated metal fence and banana plants. Several men and women in rust-orange dhotis and shawls, many with bare upper bodies and ropes of rudraksha beads, stand in two lines facing inward. The two front men on the left and right hold a large multicoloured umbrella and yellow-and-red ceremonial banners on poles. A woman in an orange sari holds a brass plate with offerings in the centre. Behind them, men in white dhotis and shirts stand along the path, and an older man in white at right, along with a woman in white, observes. A white vehicle is parked further back. This appears to be a ritual procession, and the setting is consistent with a temple-linked ashram.2013-01-06December 31 20162016-12-31 +1 copiesMay 30 20122012-05-30December 02 20132013-12-02
