July 03 20122012-07-03A man in an orange saffron garment with a long orange cord-and-white cloth held in both hands stands on a raised float decorated with garlands of white, yellow, red and purple flowers. He wears a heavy gold bead necklace over the saffron cloth and has a red tilak on his forehead, with long swept-back hair. Behind him a coconut palm frond fills the background and a gilded ornamental pillar with floral garlands stands at left. Another person in orange is partially visible at the lower right. The scene resembles a procession moment on a decorated ratha or palanquin, with a Swamiji (probable) candidate on the float based on the orange clothing, long hair and gold necklaces.2009-12-23A photograph taken on a roadside street with a crowd of men and boys standing close around a central figure. A man in a saffron-orange sleeveless top and a long orange shawl, wearing a white and green flower garland and a red tilak on his forehead, holds a yellow rope tied to a white pole with his right hand while a silver tray of pink flower petals rests on his left arm. Crowd members wear white shirts, checked shirts and dhotis. Behind them a red and orange bus and a blue wall are visible, and a small white plinth stands at the lower left. The scene appears to be a flag-hoisting or pole-raising ceremony with petals offered before the pole. The central figure's appearance is consistent with a saffron-clad sannyasi, but the identification is uncertain from the image alone.A man in a saffron-orange shawl and a gold bead necklace holds a long orange rope overhead with both hands, beside a copper-coloured temple sculpture draped with yellow and purple marigold garlands and dried palm fronds. His forehead bears white and red tilak marks and his dark hair is loose. The setting appears to be a dwajarohanam or flag-hoisting rite, with the rope. Swamiji (probable): the saffron clothing, loose long hair and gold beaded necklace match the page's claim, so he is labelled a probable Swamiji present in person.2010-01-02 +1 copiesOutdoor photo of a man in saffron/orange robes with a long swept-back dark crown of hair, red and white flower garlands and a brown rudraksha mala, hoisting a white rope upward with both hands. Beside him stands an ornately carved brown temple-style pillar or kalasha wrapped in flower garlands with red blossoms and green leaves, under a palm-and-tree background. The scene reflects a dwajarohanam flag-hoisting at a temple. The man matches the Swamiji (probable) cues of swept-back hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha mala, and is shown leading the flag-hoisting ritual.2016-01-11July 03 20122012-07-03November 26 20142014-11-26July 03 20122012-07-03June 09 20092009-06-09July 27 20092009-07-27Outdoor photo of a man in saffron/orange cloth pulling a rope to hoist a flag, at a temple setting. He wears a long garland of red and white flowers and a rudraksha mala, with dreadlocks or long matted hair wrapped in a turban-like style and a red tilak on his forehead. Beside him is an ornate carved temple structure or chariot-like base with white and red flower garlands and a palm frond-topped kalasha. Trees and palm fronds are in the background under a blue sky. This appears to be a flag-hoisting (dwajarohanam) ceremony, with the man as the visible figure pulling the rope; appearance-based probable Swamiji cues include long hair, saffron clothing, rudraksha mala and ceremonial garland.2016-01-11July 27 20082008-07-27
