2003 -Glimpses From Various ProgramsMarch 14 20032003-03-14January 12 20072007-01-12A seated figure in saffron-orange robes with gold borders and an orange turban sits on a white throne-like chair on a raised platform draped with a red and multicoloured cloth strewn with flower petals. Before the platform, a woman in a navy blue sari kneels with palms pressed together in namaste, while a row of men in white and pale shirts stands behind her with hands folded in reverence. A standing man in white clothing and a rudraksha-style pendant on a cord attends beside the throne. A pedestal fan and speaker stand in the hall, and a light hangs on the wall. The posture and gesture suggest a devotee receiving blessing, with the throne's occupant appearing as a person (saffron robes, orange turban and long hair are visible cues) at a mass initiation gathering.A photograph inside a plain white-walled hall with fluorescent tube lights and barred windows. Beside him a bespectacled man in a white shirt and dark trousers with a belt stands with his hand near his waist. Two men in white shirts stand at the left edge with their backs partly to the camera, and seated figures in white and other clothing fill the background chairs.2007-01-12Indoor photograph in a plain white-walled room. A woman with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron robe and a long rudraksha-style bead necklace, sits smiling on an ornate red-cushioned wooden chair. A man in a white shirt and grey trousers bends forward and holds her hand or foot while another man in a white shirt and a dark bead necklace looks on and reaches toward her. Other men in white shirts stand nearby, including one in an orange top and a man at right raising his hands. The woman's appearance with dark hair, saffron robe and bead necklace gives a person cue, but the seated woman is described only by role as a seated devotee-receiving figure and identity is uncertain.2007-01-12Indoor photograph of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes with a matching orange head wrap, long dark swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala, hands folded in lap, seated in a chair at left. Five standing men in white dhotis and shirts, several wearing rosette ribbon badges in red, yellow and blue, surround him; one man on the right holds his hands together in greeting. A young girl in an orange dress and a woman in an orange shawl stand at the right edge. A white wall and wall socket form the background.2004-10-03A photograph of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange turban, with a long dark braid and a beaded mala around the neck, sitting on a red cloth on a mat. A bald man in white shirt and white dhoti kneels in front with palms pressed together in greeting, while a woman in a yellow sari kneels beside him. Standing devotees around them include a man in white dhoti with an ID lanyard, women in green and yellow saris, and a man in white near the top. A small brass dish sits on the floor in the foreground. The seated figure's appearance fits a person through the orange turban and robes, mala and long hair, but the page does not confirm it, so identity is unsure.December 19 20032003-12-19Photograph taken at night at an outdoor evening event. A seated man in saffron-orange robes and an orange head wrap, wearing a white-and-red flower garland, sits on a white-covered bed or raised seat, hands resting in his lap. Behind him, a man in a white kurta and a bearded man with long hair in white clothing stand beside the seat, one extending a hand toward the seated man. Around them, many men in white shirts and dhotis, some wearing red-and-white garlands, crowd close and sit on a blue-and-white striped mat in the foreground. A small silver-wrapped offering and flowers rest on the bed. The seated man in orange has distinctive saffron robes and head wrap, so the appearance-based label applies: a person, seated and receiving devotees.2003-03-14November 09 20032003-11-09 +1 copiesMarch 23 20082008-03-23
