Etymology

Sat means ‘Truth’ and Sanga means ‘Company’. The word Satsanga typically means being in the company of Truth, being in the presence of the Master who takes us towards the truth. This typically involves listening to his words, reflecting on, discussing and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words, and bringing their meaning into one’s daily life.

Satsang is the transmission of spiritual energy

It is transmission of knowledge from the master that leads to deeper understanding and realization of one’s Self. An enlightened master is a powerhouse of spiritual energy, constantly radiating in all directions. When we enter the spiritual field of such an enlightened being, our being begins to spontaneously vibrate at the same frequency as his own powerful spiritual vibrations. Just as a bowl of water will begin to hum when struck with a metal rod at the right frequency, an energy adept can subtly force our energy into higher spiritual frequencies by the sheer pressure of his own vibration.

In the Master’s presence, deeper understanding of the Truth happens. Sound physical health, mental clarity, joy and peace happen spontaneously in his Satsang. Driven by deep compassion and infinite patience, the master continuously works on the disciple to create a new being. This he does, at 3 levels - first, through his teachings, 2nd through his initiation and 3rd through his constant remembrance of disciples, he hatches them into new beings. Satsangs spread peace and bliss

We continuously imbibe what we see and hear. When deep truths are continuously pondered on, in the presence of the Master, they create a conflict free space within us. This enables one to live a conflict-free life. Every conflict-free individual contributes to a conflict-free global community. An enlightened Master's energy transcends the boundaries of time and space. Satsang with an enlightened Master, therefore, has the incomparable blessing of having the opportunity to receive an incarnation's energy which simply awakens the deepest inner potential energy inside every human being - the Kundalini Shakti. Just the enlightened presence makes the flame in one's being light up and catch the fire of Truth, thus enabling the quantum leap into the higher spectrums of consciousness.

Why Attend Satsang on Nayana Deeksha - Two-Way Video Conferencing

  • 1. First thing your posture will be proper because Swamiji is seeing you. When you are sitting in your bedroom and watching, your posture will not be proper. You will be half lying means semi-conscious. You may be hearing, you will not be listening.
  • 2. You will be attentive. At home, you may be watching with the sound of the grinder,, mixie, laundry, husband, children, and all sorts of distractions will be there.
  • 3. Moreover, if you are at home you will have certain pattern of thinking, in your office there is certain of thinking. Unless you step out of that place, you will not step out of that thinking. That is why satsang means coming to a center or an allotted place for mainly being seen by Swamiji.

Importance of Two-Way

Great saints like Sundaramurthi Swami says in his verses Mahadeva! You take away anything from my life, not the company of the devotees, not the company of people who live for same purpose. When you see people with same purpose it is inspiration – satsanga. If you see people if you have company of people who have same purpose that is the biggest strength inspiring. Anything can be given up, not living at the feet of the master .

Because there not only master, 1000s who are living striving towards the ideal of the master where will you get such a sacred company? Such a sacred support. Satsanga is moral support to the society. You get so much of moral support in modern support for drinking, going to movies not for enlightenment. But in satsang you get moral support for enlightenment. Take this as authentic integrated commitment whatever may happen, I will live and die in satsanga. In the sangha. Because continuously that satsanga brings you to Nithsanga.

“Satsasangatve nitsangatvam, nisangatve nirmohatvam, nirmohatva nischalatatvam, nischalatatve Jeevanmukti!”

Satsanga leads to nitsangha, nitsangha leads to nirmoha, nirmoha leads to nishchala and nischala leads to jeevan mukti. From satsanga comes non-attachment, from non-attachment comes freedom from delusion. From freedom from deluions leads to self settlement. Self settlement leads to jeevan mukti!
