Animals take birth as polygamous creatures and die as a polygamous creature. Man takes birth as polygamous but he should not die polygamous, he should become monogamous. That is what is called maturity. When maturity happens deep friendliness we have towards the spouse replaces the need for the lust. This is when we enter into the next phase of life - Vanaprastha.
